Imaging guided injections

This is the injection of therapeutic substances directly into the required area under imaging guidance. One of the reasons for treatment failure of anatomical landmark guided injection is that the injection does not enter the joint space and this is not recognised at the time of the procedure. Using imaging guidance the correct location can be confirmed prior to injection.
